Shingo Sato in Movement
Adapting Shingo Sato pattern-making technique of removing conventional seams and replacing them with innovative ones, the aim of the project was to design and create a garment with significant movement. To create the movement the skirt was constructed with 2 layers of inverted irregular double pleats on circular paths. 12 yards of fabric was used to construct the skirt. The bodice and skirt is fully lined. The bodice has pleated cap sleeves and is constructed with 18 vertical and 20 horizontal parallel panels.
